XVII South Zone Shooting Championship Competitions 2026 in Shotgun (NR) Events
The XVII South Zone Shooting Championship Competitions 2026 in Shotgun (NR) events will be held at Royal Pudukkottai Sports Club, H.H.Maharaja of Pudukkottai Shooting Range, Perungudipatti, Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu from 29th August to 5th September 2026. Conducted by Tamil Nadu Shooting Association under the aegis of the National Rifle Association of India.
Rules & Regulations
Conducted as per rules and regulations under NRAI Match Book and ISSF Rules. Clothing and equipment during competition will strictly follow ISSF Rules. Entry fee is non-refundable except if match is cancelled. Shooting practice in hotels is strictly prohibited. Penalty of Rs. 3000/- plus 18% GST applies to state units if athlete scores below 85% of qualifying score. Penalty of Rs. 5000/- plus 18% GST applies for entry in non-qualified events.
Eligibility Criteria
Shooters from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Age eligibility determined as on 31st December of the competition year (Youth: born 2007 or after; Junior: born 2005 or after; Senior: born 2004 or before; Masters: born 1967–1981; Senior Masters: born 1957–1966; Super Masters: born 1956 or before). Athletes below 12 years are not allowed to participate in firearm matches. Athletes who have not participated in current State Championship and not achieved MQS per Rule 1.4 of NRAI Match Book are ineligible based on India Open performance. Deaf and Para athletes have specific eligibility criteria.
Awards & Prizes
Medals awarded in individual categories: 4 Athletes - 3 Medals, 3 Athletes - 2 Medals, 2 Athletes - 1 Medal, 1 Athlete - No Medal. Medals/Badges will not be awarded to those whose score is less than qualifying marks (exemptions apply to Deaf, Para, Senior Masters, and Super Masters).

Aug 29: PET for Double Trap & Skeet; Aug 30: Competition for Double Trap & Skeet; Aug 31: Competition for Double Trap & Skeet; Sep 1: Competition for Skeet, PET for Trap; Sep 2: Competition for Trap; Sep 3: Competition for Trap; Sep 4: Competition for Trap; Sep 5: Reserve Day. Matches start at 8:00 AM daily.
