Sixth Edition of Pondy Open Shooting Championship 2026 (Air Rifle and Air Pistol events only) under the aegis of Pondicherry Shooting Association.
Rules & Regulations
1) Shooters entering in PEEP sight can’t enter in OPEN sight and vice-versa. 2) The Organizers will not supply the weapon / air pellets. Shooters are requested to bring their own weapon / air pellets. 3) Refunds will not be entertained under any circumstances. 4) All open sight Air Rifles used in Open sight Matches must be as per NRAI specification. 5) Registration without proper documentation will be rejected and will not be refunded. 6) Entry forms and Entry fee for the team events should be given before the start of the match by the team manager on 9th June 2026. This amount can be paid by cash. 7) Payments for the registration of the events shall be made directly through the registration site. 8) Shooters taking part in the ISSF category cannot take part in NR category matches. The shooters who have not qualified for nationals can take part in NR category Only. NR Match - 40 shots. ISSF Match - 60 shots. All matches in paper target. 9) Weapon sharing will be limited to the number of details allotted for the particular match, extra details will not be conducted to accommodate weapon sharing. Weapon sharing should be intimated in writing while submitting entry forms. 10) The organizers reserve the right to change/modify the program schedule at their discretion. 11) The organisers reserve the right to change/modify the rules and regulations at their discretion. 12) Competitor cards will be sent to the registered email Ids of the athletes after the entries are closed. 13) Competitors shall observe strict safety regulations and range discipline and shall not load or commence firing unless on the firing line and only when appropriate firing order is given by the Range Officer. The competitor shall carry all weapons with bolts / actions open at all times except on the firing line. The decision of the appropriate Jury shall be final in all such matters. The weapon should be kept in open action when not firing, put on safety flags every time if you are in FOP. (Field of play). 14) Only Shooters will be allowed to enter the range. No spectators will be allowed to enter the range. No Assistance / Helpers for sub youth category. Shooters are requested to report at the registration one hour before their allocated reporting time. 15) Proper dress code shall be maintained. Shooters without proper dress code will not be allowed to participate in the match. Shooters can check the NRAI match book for proper dress code for their matches. 16) The following shall not be used by the shooters during shooting competition: Chappals and sandals, Jeans and camouflage, Sleeveless tops/miniskirts, All types of pants and shorts with external pockets like cargo pants and shorts. 17) Photography is strictly prohibited inside the range, excepting by the duly authorized photographers of the press (authorised by the organizers). Cell phones / Mobile Phones and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the range.
Eligibility Criteria
1) Shooters of any club/units affiliated with state associations under The National Rifle Association of India are only permitted to participate. Any registration from un-affiliated Units/Clubs will be rejected and will not be refunded. 2) For proof of age Aadhar Card / Passport / Birth Certificate / NRAI shooter ID / Bona fide Certificate from School with Date Of Birth can be uploaded at the required space. 3) Only the Undertaking form duly signed by the President / Secretary of affiliated units will be accepted, and the same should be uploaded at the required space during event registration. 4) Shooters, who are completing the age, as stated below in 2026, will be allowed to participate under age categories matches: SHOOTERS BELOW THE AGE OF 10 ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION. 5) Sub Youth, Youth and Junior shooters can take part in categories above their age group except masters and senior masters. (Multiple entries can be given) but entries cannot be given in the lower age group. 6) Masters category shooters can take part in their category and Senior (Men / Women) but not in Senior Masters Category. Likewise Senior Masters can take part in their category, Masters category and Senior Category.
Awards & Prizes
Individual and team medals will be awarded. We are introducing overall championship trophies for NR and ISSF Matches. Individual and Team medal points are calculated as follows: a) Gold - 5 b) Silver - 3 c) Bronze - 2. Club / Unit with the Highest points will be awarded with overall trophies.

For all Individual events, the Entry Fee is Rs. 875/-. For all Team events, the Entry Fee is Rs. 1000/-. Late entry with triple entry fee will be accepted up to 05.00PM 05th June 2026.
